- Week 6 Quiz
- Hand out Quiz and have students fill out answers to best of their ability (this will be discussed at the end of class).

- GamePlanning on Course (Part 1)
- Choosing a target from the tee. Consider your individual Shot Zone size and where the dark and medium shades are. Where is the lightest egg? How does that help you choose where to aim? Find a hole with dark shades on one or both sides to illustrate. If you need to aim at the edge of the fairway/rough that is OK and could be proper.
- The Distance Gradient. Where and when do you hit driver? Many times wedge from the rough is much better than 6 iron from the fairway. Find a hole with light shades to illustrate.
- Cover The Rule: To shoot the lowest score, you must safely reduce as much distance as possible between your ball and the hole with each stroke. Closer is better 99% of the time.
- GIR is King. Emphasize how important hitting the green is at any distance. Consider shot zone size with the iron you are hitting and aim at the “fat” of the green.
- Dead Center. Hitting the green is so important that players must be disciplined and aim AWAY from the flag into the center of the green. Discuss charts on pp. 201-203.
- nGIR is Queen. Tour players hit the green in regulation or nGIR 17+ times per round. More nGIRs = lower handicaps.
- Go For It (p. 207). Show them (or discuss a local hole) an example of a short par 4 or a second shot to a par 5 without much trouble around it. Explain the upside of getting as close as possible and re-emphasize The Rule.

- GamePlanning on Course (Part 2)
- Greenside Shots - pick and briefly explain three shots:
- Simple chip with sloped green: Closer is always better no matter the slope re: The Longest Yard p. 191.
- Pitch shot over a bunker or another difficult shot. Consider shot zone size and how important it is to have a putt for your next shot.
- Bunker Shot. Consider shot zone size. Statistically a PGA Tour player will average about 2.5 shots to hole out from a bunker. If you can average between 2.5 and 3 that is extremely good.
1:30 - 1:40
- Go over Week 6 quiz and discuss. What answers would you change?
